Golden Raisin Wheat Berry Arugula Salad brings together sweetness, gentle heat, and a pleasing mix of textures, while the sesame honey dressing stands out as the defining element of the dish.

But wait, what are you going to do with out Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s?” It was one of the first questions a former co-worker asked me when she heard I was moving to Nantucket (an island 30 miles off the coast of Cape Cod, MA.) It was a fair question. One I kind of avoided thinking about once I had made my decision.
Nantucket, only 14 miles long, has just two grocery stores, both Stop & Shops. In fact, Stop & Shop and Cumberland Farms are the only 2 chains on the island. Having grown up here I’m plenty used to that. In fact, it’s one of the things that makes this place so special buuuuut no lie, I loved having a Wegmans in college and a Whole Food’s and Trader Joe’s nearby while I lived in New York, New Jersey and Boston.

Oh TJ’s, I miss you already. Next to breakfast and coffee, and listening to Drake while I do BBG, shopping at you was one of my favorite rituals. Your free samples, friendly employees and plethora of new trendy items always kept me coming back for more. They say absence makes the heart grow fonder, so I guess our relationship will only blossom once I return to the main land. I’m already afraid my FOMO for your almond butter will overtake me, but that was a risk I had to take. I’ll miss you out here, but luckily your pantry stables are a plenty in our storage room so I’ll never be without my roasted, unsalted sunflower seeds.
This salad was inspired by one of my favorites from Trader Joe’s. The arugula, wheat berry, goat cheese, golden raisin combo is obviously a favorite, but with sesame honey dressing? Oh hellz yeah. In fact, the dressing totally steals the show and that’s a-okay with me. This salad got a huge thumbs up from my step-dad who is definitely a meat and potatoes guy so if that doesn’t sell you I don’t know what will.
